Dates:  Oct. 29-31, Jan 28-30

******************************************

We are looking forward to our second year rotation of lessons with Mrs. Dianne Nichols and Dr. Jody Graves. Both of these teachers have been very well received and appreciated by students and teachers alike!

We thank Mary Jane Clarke and Sue Dick for their hospitality with housing Jody and Dianne last year and their willing hearts to help in this area once again. It makes this project affordable for our Chapter each year.

Jody’s hours are filled, but there is still time available with Dianne. Please contact Cherie via email at jscffelts@comcast.net or by phone at (360) 491-5452 with your request for hours. Signups will also continue at our first Chapter meeting on September 14th and then the schedule will be put together soon after that date.

Participating teachers will receive their schedule and the amounts due by mail from Cherie between September 20th- 25th with the fees due at /by our October Chapter meeting on Tuesday, October 12th. The hourly rate will remain at the current rate of $60.00 per hour. If you choose to mail a check, Cherie’s address is 936 Gregory Way SE. in Olympia and her zip code is 98513. Checks are payable to OMTA, thank you.

Chapter Policies regarding sign-ups for Master Lessons

  • The Master Lesson Chairperson will announce deadlines for signing up for Master Lessons several times a year in the newsletter and website, and teachers may sign up at the designated chapter meeting or by contacting the Chairperson via email or telephone.  This year's Master Lesson Chairperson is Cherie Felts.  jscffelts@comcast.net.  Fall 2010 sign ups will occur at the JUNE MEETING.

  • Once a teacher has signed up, this becomes a firm commitment for that teacher to be personally responsible for payment for that particular time slot.  If for any reason the student(s) cannot take the Master Lesson, the teacher is still responsible.  There are various ways the teacher can handle this.  Another student could take the lesson, or the teacher might want to take the lesson him or herself, or the teacher might want to use the time to get some help with pedagogy from the Master Teacher, or the teacher might contact other chapter members to see if they might want to use the time slot for one of their students.

  • Please inform the Chairperson if a substitution is arranged.  However, if no use can be found for that time slot, the Master Teacher must still be paid and this is the responsibility of the teacher who signed up for the time.  The Chairperson is not responsible for finding substitutes.
